Sophos Firewall Migration Incentive

Sophos Offers New Migration Perk for UTM Customers Transitioning to Sophos Firewall

June 23, 2025 - Sophos has announced a new incentive program to encourage existing Sophos UTM (SG) customers to migrate to the next-generation Sophos Firewall (SFOS) platform. Beginning June 18, 2025, eligible customers can receive a free 3-month subscription extension on their current UTM services when they upgrade using one of the available migration promo codes.

New 3-Month Overlap Benefit

This latest offer provides a complimentary 3-month subscription term for existing UTM licenses, allowing customers to run both platforms in parallel during the migration phase - at no additional cost. This overlap ensures minimal disruption and a smoother transition to SFOS.

To take advantage of the benefit, partners must:

  • Include the UTM subscriptions in the quote alongside a minimum 3-year term for Xstream Protection on SFOS.
  • Apply the appropriate migration promo code.
  • Ensure all other promotional terms are met.

Sophos confirms that the 3-month UTM extension will be fully discounted, adding value on top of existing hardware and software promo discounts.

Promo Expansion Coming for Virtual Transitions

In the coming weeks, Sophos plans to introduce a dedicated promo code for customers moving from UTM Software/Virtual to SFOS Software/Virtual. This will extend the 3-month overlap benefit to those transitioning in virtualized environments.

UTM Lifecycle Milestones Approaching

Customers are reminded of the key dates in the UTM product lifecycle:

  • June 30, 2025: Final date to order 1-year renewals (must not go beyond the EOL of June 30, 2026).
  • December 31, 2025: Last day to renew any UTM subscriptions.

Terms of less than 6 months are no longer sold as of April 30, 2025.

Ongoing Hardware Discounts

Sophos also reintroduced a 99% hardware discount for customers upgrading to XGS Series 1U and 2U rackmount models - effective June 1, 2025.

Sophos Firewall v21.5 Now Available

The latest version of Sophos Firewall, v21.5, has been released and includes industry-first NDR Essentials integration with XGS Series appliances, significantly enhancing threat detection capabilities.

JetBrains has announced that, beginning May 7, 2025, its C/C++ integrated development environment CLion will be available at no cost for non-commercial users. This change aligns CLion with other JetBrains products - WebStorm, Rider, and RustRover - that already offer free editions to learners, hobbyists, open-source contributors, and content creators.

Under the new model, users need only download CLion 2025.1.x, sign in with a JetBrains Account, and accept the non-commercial license terms - there are no forms, approvals, or technical checks required. The free edition is functionally identical to the paid version, with the sole exception that non-commercial users receive the Code With Me Community plugin bundled with their license.

Embarcadero Launches Community Poll to Name RAD Studio 13

Embarcadero is asking developers worldwide to pick the next destination-themed code name for its flagship IDE, inviting votes for “Syracuse” or “Florence” as the official title of RAD Studio 13. The call went out on the company's blog last week, marking the latest step in a long-running tradition that has seen releases named after cities such as Seattle, Berlin, Tokyo, Sydney and, most recently, Athens.

According to the post by General Manager Atanas Popov, work on RAD Studio 13 is already under way and will extend the AI-driven features introduced in version 12.3. Popov described artificial intelligence as “a once-in-a-generation opportunity” to reinvent Delphi and RAD Studio applications, promising continued investment in tools that help developers modernise legacy code and build new, AI-enhanced apps.

The two Italian finalists were chosen for their historical links to innovation. Syracuse evokes Archimedes and the classical world’s scientific heritage, while Florence symbolises Renaissance creativity and the genius of Leonardo da Vinci. Embarcadero partners have already cast preliminary votes, but the public poll remains open “to hear from the broader community.”

Developers can record their choice via a short online form linked in the blog post; results will guide the official branding when RAD Studio 13 ships. No release timeline has been announced, but Embarcadero says the new version will continue the IDE’s shift toward AI-assisted development, performance improvements and cross-platform modernisation.
